Promoting the Mainstreaming of Climate Change in Vietnam: Roundtable Event Series 2010

In 2010 the Action Field 2 "Urban Development" within the research consortium " Megacity Research Project TP. Ho Chi Minh" is organizing a roundtable event series with the overall topic "Climate Change Mainstreaming".

The underlying idea of this is to bring together stakeholders from public administration, education and science, private companies as well as civil society belonging to different disciplines and background to discuss challenges related to climate change and the promotion of sustainable urban development in Vietnam.

In this way, a platform is being created to bring together different agents and thus to overcome one of the biggest constraints of the social environment of Vietnam: Institutional fragmentation and lack of implementation knowledge.

In 2010, altogether 10-12 events are planned in cooperation with a variety of different partners such as the Ministry of Construction, the University of Architecture of HCMC, the NGO ENDA, the Vietnam Urban Development Agency and the ConBuild Fair organisational team.

Also, this serves to spread knowledge thus being a key component of our overall capacity building efforts.
