Prof. Dr. Ing. Uwe Meinberg teaches and researches on agile information systems, knowledge transfers and knowledge management, amongst others also on IT-supported tourism management. Especially in the context of the UNESCO Charter on the Preservation of Digital Cultural Heritage, his research on the structuring and implementation of object- and person-related flows of information using modern technology and economic considerations, is of essential importance for the IGS Heritage Studies. In that way, Prof. Meinberg aims not only at questions of communicating heritage with new media, but also at the influences that the digitalisation of heritage has on heritage itself and its perception, as well as how the contents of heritage communication change with the involvement of new media. Prof. Meinberg will supervise Ph.D.-topics of focus area 5.
