RFID technology at all University Library locations

This summer the media of the university library were converted to RFID technology.

Almost 400,000 media have now been equipped with RFID labels. This ensures consistent booking and book security at all locations.
This technology enables the use of new technology, such as for example the security gates.
New, simple and intuitive systems for the automatic self check-out are available for independent borrowing at all three library locations. The new automatic self check-out can book multiple media at the same time, which makes it much faster and easier than before to use.
The increased security provided by RFID technology in our media makes it possible that it is not compulsory for jackets and bags to be locked away in the lockers.
We are planning to offer further services which are possible with the new technology.

The staff of the university library will of course still continue to assist you during the service hours as well as the security guards!
