Exhibition: Creating a Culture of Remembrance on Forced Labor and the Holocaust: A cross-border task

Culture of remembrance using the example of the Ulme chemical factory in Christianstadt

The exhibition is dedicated to the personal fates and tales of suffering of numerous Jewish forced laborers who were in the Polish town of Nowogród Bobrzański (Christianstadt).

Initiated by Prof. Kirstin Bromberg and the University of Zielona Gora, students from both universities worked on this topic. On view is an exhibition that presents current object photographs and audio recordings of interviews with children and relatives of former forced laborers. The students were involved both in the photographic exploration of the remains of this important explosives factory (Ulme) and in the research on the subject of forced labour in this factory.
Under the active design of Ms. Elzbieta Przybyla, corresponding roll-ups were created that encourage reflection.

After the stops at Nowogród Bobrzański and the University of Zielona Gora, with the support of the Euroregion Spree - Neiße - Bobr, the project, conceived as a travelling exhibition, will now be shown at the BTU Cottbus - Senftenberg in the Information, Communication and Media Centre.

All interested parties are cordially invited to the opening of the exhibition on Tuesday, 18 December 2018 at 4 p.m..
