"gebucht"

The exhibition "booked" combines poems by Ingolf Brökel and photographs by Ulrike Ertel

Here word and image are connected on one level, in detail, as well as in the whole being. The special visualizes the omnipresence, the transience and the transience at the same time by the kind of the poet and the photographer. Reality is never questioned, but both artists use it extremely as a starting point to show with spirit and feeling the elementary things of life in an alienated perspective with logic, mystery, in visual and linguistic excellent communication. For this art not only reproduces the visible, it also brings the "unspeakable", the "invisible" to light. Here language is taken at its word, what is seen is condensed and placed in the picture in a different way.

Ingolf Brökel (1950), a well-known poet and physicist, Ulrike Ertel (1951), a paediatrician and photographer, lives in Berlin and has often brought her art together in many readings and exhibitions, book projects, and even "booked" it.
