Every year, the UNICUM Foundation awards the title of “Professor of the Year,” which receives considerable media coverage nationwide. Since many smaller universities have scored well in the past and the advertised subject areas coincide with ours, we may have a good chance of winning this title and attracting nationwide attention during an admissions-sensitive phase.
The nomination phase runs until September 22.
Procedure:
During the nomination phase, students, university graduates, employers, fellow professors, and university staff are invited to nominate their candidates in four categories:
Economics/Law
Engineering/Computer Science
Natural Sciences/Medicine
Humanities, Social Sciences, and Cultural Studies
All nominees will be notified of their nomination by email from the jury.
During the jury phase, the jury evaluates the nominees and determines the award winners. The decision is based on:
the nominees' self-assessment based on questionnaires.
the number of nominations received as a quantitative indicator.
the jury's own research.
references from the nominees.
The winners are honored at their universities in high-profile award ceremonies. They receive a plaque and a certificate. The runners-up in the competition receive a certificate. The announcement of the winners and the ceremonies at the universities attract a great deal of attention every year in the regional and national media and in specialist publications.
