WIR - WI+R - VirHand

Project description:

The joint project "VirHand - Virtual Reality to Support the Skilled Crafts" is a 15-month research project funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space. In this project, the BTU chairs FG Energy Economics and FG ABWL, in particular Organisation and Business Management, are working together with regional partners.

Like many other regions undergoing structural change, Lusatia is facing a far-reaching social, ecological and, above all, economic transformation. The "VirHand" project addresses the important bottleneck of the labour market in the implementation of structural change in an energy region. The project pursues two objectives:

  • Improved qualification of employees and trainees in the skilled trades sector with the help of virtual reality/augmented reality applications
  • The use of VR/AR to establish the region's image nationally and internationally as an energy region in an exciting transformation phase with excellent working conditions.

It is possible to complete a thesis as part of this research project.
