Tim Sockel, B.Sc. B.Sc. in Computer Science

Tim Sockel majored in computer science at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. Focussing on the topic of information retrieval at the Chair of Database and Information Systems, he wrote his bachelor thesis on the Design of a CQQL Extension for Elasticsearch. Subsequently, he decided to specialize in computational linguistics, studying at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) in a Master's course. In doing so, he is interested in natural language processing and corresponding algorithmic approaches.

Since December 2018, he has been working as a student assistant at the chair of Technoscience Studies. He is responsible for the chair’s website and supports the team with related technical issues. 

Tim Sockel is member of the German Informatics Society and the foundation “Glemser Stiftung for Future Excellency”.
