Public Guest Lecture on Hydrogen and Energy Justice
We are pleased to announce an upcoming guest lecture as part of the Just Energy Transition module:
Dr. Tobias Kalt: Political Scientist | Energy and Industry Transformation Researcher
Dr. Tobias Kalt is a political scientist whose research focuses on transformation processes within the global energy and industrial systems. He works from a political-ecological and political-economic perspective, with a particular interest in power relations, conflicts, and questions of justice. Dr. Kalt was part of the BMBF-funded research groups H2POLITICS – Shaping Just Hydrogen Partnerships with the Global South and GLOCALPOWER – Funds, Tools and Networks for an African Energy Transition. In these projects, he investigated energy transition processes on the African continent, with a particular focus on green hydrogen and its implications for energy and climate justice. In this guest lecture, Dr. Kalt will address the topic of Hydrogen and Energy Justice. Together we will explore the rise of a global hydrogen economy as a response to energy and climate crises, analyzing who defines the pathways of hydrogen development, who benefits, and who bears the costs—both globally and locally.
We look forward to an insightful and thought-provoking session!
