Publication fees in journals and conference proceedings
In order to be able to publish Open Access, sometimes authors have to pay publication fees, so-called Article Processing Charges (APC).
From 1 January 2019, new agreements will apply to Open Access publications. Authors of the BTU can publish free of charge or at high discounts with the following publishers.
Cambridge University Press
Authors of the BTU (corresponding authors) can now publish unlimited and free of charge in numerous hybrid journals.
Sage
The publication fee (APC) for numerous hybrid journals is GBP 200 instead of GBP 2,200 for authors of the BTU (corresponding authors). The publisher grants a 20 % discount on publication fees for articles in Gold Open Access journals.
Association of Computing Machinery (ACM)
Authors of the BTU (corresponding authors) receive a discount for publication in hybrid or Gold Open Access publications.
Journal article: 1,500 USD (normal price 1700 USD)
Conference report: 800 USD (normal price 900 USD)
Gold Open Access journals: all articles are published according to the principles of Open Access.
Hybrid journals: contain Open Access articles and also those that are only available to institutions that have licensed these journals.
