Hybrid seminar in IKMZ: “Key Points to Getting Published: Behind the Scenes with IEEE”

In cooperation with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the University Library is offering a hybrid seminar on scientific publishing and open access on Friday, 29 November 2024 from 9:30 to 12:00 am. The event will take place in the IKMZ building in the foyer on the 7th floor and Online participation via live stream is possible as well.

The event consists of two one-hour modules, it is possible to attend only one out of two. Module 1: "Key Points to Getting Published:Behind the Scenes with IEEE”; Module 2: ‘Publishing Open Access Articles with the IEEE’

Eszter Lukacs (IEEE Client Services Manager) presents the writing process of a scientific publication and gives insights into editorial processes, peer review and Open Access. The seminar is primarily aimed at doctoral students and postdocs in technical and scientific disciplines. The event offers insights into the work processes at IEEE, which can nevertheless be applied to other disciplines and other publishers as well.

The event will be held in English. However, questions can also be asked in German during the discussions after the lectures.
