Company excursions

Once or twice per semester, we organise full-day excursions to three companies in the region together with our partners (see below) in order to make them more visible to our students as potential employers. The composition of the participants is clustered thematically in advance (e.g. "Construction" tour, "Computer Science" tour, "Metal" tour, etc.).
Each company has approximately 90 minutes to organise the programme. The following programme points have proven to be successful:
- Short presentation (e.g. using PowerPoint) of the company and the entry opportunities (internships, working student positions, theses, graduate positions)
- Answering questions
- Factory tour (if possible)
There is no entitlement to participation and it depends, among other things, on student demand and the feasibility of the route.
The following requirements also apply for participation:
- the company visited must be located in the state of Brandenburg
- the companies should have a genuine need for skilled labour: Companies that currently only have ONE internship to offer, for example, are not interesting enough for a group of up to 20 students
- Due to the travelling time, companies south of Berlin are preferred
- The costs of the excursion are usually covered by the Cottbus Chamber of Industry and Commerce and/or the Cottbus Chamber of Trade. If funding from the chambers is not possible, we ask the participating companies to cover the costs (for the bus). In addition, we usually ask a company to provide lunch for the excursion participants free of charge.
If you are interested in participating, please send an email to Thomas.Elfert(at)b-tu.de, stating the disciplines you are interested in.
The company excursions are usually organised in cooperation with the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation, the Cottbus Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Cottbus Chamber of Trade.
