Professionalization of housing consulting (ProWoB)

Runtime

11/2023 until 10/2026

For many older people, living in a familiar environment is a decisive and elementary part of their biography and at the same time a significant expression of quality of life. Living space and one's own "home" are associated with spatial, temporal, social, emotional and cultural aspects, often centered on the desire to remain within one's own four walls. The interdisciplinary project team of the ProWoB project, headed by Prof. Dr. Alexandra Retkowski (Chair Social Services for Structurally Weak Regions at the Institute of Social Work) and Dr. Bettina Glunde (Assistant Professor Nursing Science and Clinical Care at the Institute of Health), follows this approach. The goal is to further develop and strengthen the professionalization of housing counseling in Lusatia so that those seeking advice can be specifically supported by housing counselors.

The project is part of the alliance com(m) 2020: "Municipal innovations for health care in rural areas" of the Carl-Thiem-Research GmbH, which has the goal to actively shape the health care in Lusatia and to strengthen the health economy as a value-adding sector in the structural change. With a funding amount of 467.673,43 € (incl. project flat rate), which is provided by the BMBF, the supply situation in Lusatia can be analyzed for the first time and quality characteristics for the housing consulting can be identified. In addition, a training and implementation concept for housing counselors will be piloted.
