The MyThOS project will develop a dedicated, minimal operating system that will greatly reduce parallel processing overhead through a modular architecture - this approach can efficiently complement existing operating systems by significantly reducing thread creation time and achieving more efficient parallelization. MyThOS is validated on selected scenarios from the fields of molecular dynamics, flow simulation & electrodynamics and the distributed processing of multimedia data. However, the addressed area of application goes beyond that and is particularly suitable for the analysis of very large amounts of data and the handling of highly dynamic scenarios .
