Previous stations:

Studied Environmental and Sustainability Studies (B. Sc.) at Leuphana University Lüneburg with a minor in Economics and a year abroad at Utrecht University (international focus).
Followed by a Master's degree in Human Ecology: Culture, Power and Sustainability at Lund University (Sweden), graduating in 2024.
Title of the Master's thesis: "Ecological Unequal Exchange in the Future Hydrogen Economy - Germany and Namibia".

2024 to 2025 Internship in the Just Transition Ukraine project of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Berlin

2023 Internship at PowerShift e.V. in Berlin with independent research on natural gas and hydrogen policy, heat transition and international climate processes (including COP28),

Tamerat has been a teaching and research fellow in Cluster 3 of the Centre for Structural Change and Regional Development (ZeStuR) since November 2025.
