Habilitation and Academic Career
- If you aspire to an academic career, you can lay the groundwork for your habilitation with us. Become part of our network and develop into a true expert in your field.
- To pursue a habilitation at our chair, you must submit an application for admission to the habilitation process to Faculty 3 of BTU. For detailed information about the procedure and the necessary steps, please visit this link and consult the Habillitationsordnung.
Financing Your Scientific Activities
The financing of your scientific activities is typically done through acquired third-party funds, such as research projects supported by public funding programs or collaborations with industry. Alternatively, scholarships can also be used, which provide you with financial independence during your academic work.
As university budget funds are only available to a limited extent, we encourage you to proactively inform yourself about current third-party funding projects and funding opportunities. Our experienced scientists will be happy to support you in identifying suitable funding sources and preparing applications. With successful financing, you create the foundation for your scientific work and can actively contribute to the further development of research in the fields of thermal energy engineering and hydrogen technology.
Cooperation with Industry
In addition to academic work, you have the opportunity to write your thesis in collaboration with industrial companies. Benefit from practical experience and establish contacts with leading companies in the energy technology and hydrogen industry - an ideal basis for your future career.
Your Professional Future
With a scientific education in thermal energy engineering and hydrogen technology, excellent career opportunities open up for you. Our graduates are active in the following areas:
- Research and Development (e.g., in industry or research institutes)
- Energy sector consulting
- Planning and implementation of sustainable energy systems
They also take on leading positions in innovative startups, medium-sized companies or global corporations.
