Sustainability at the BTU
The BTU works in all areas on a transformation towards sustainability and the sustainable use of resources. Sustainability is a cross-cutting topic for the btu. As an educational institution for future decision-makers of the society, the BTU holds a strong responsibility for current and future generations.
We are aware of the effects a university has on the environment, arising from:
- the BTU's role in the structural transformation of Lusatia,
- the practical university operation,
- research projects and results and
- the multiplier role in the field of environmental education and ethics.
With its environmental guidelines, the BTU has created a framework for action. It is filled out by continuous environmental management involving the broadest possible sections of the university's staff at all organizational levels.
The following webpages present projects as well as initiatives related to sustainability.
We hope you enjoy reading them.
We are a member of the AG Nachhaltigkeit an Brandenburger Hochschulen
The goal of the AG Nachhaltigkeit an Brandenburger Hochschulen is to anchor higher education for sustainable development in the consciousness of all university members at Brandenburg universities in the long term. Together, we have the vision of developing Brandenburg as a location for diverse sustainability studies. The state-wide implementation of the Brandenburger Hochschulverträge 2019-23 will therefore also contribute to the implementation of Goal 4.1 of the Brandenburger Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie.
