Internationale Tagung: Empowerment in Times of Forced Migration, Institut für Soziale Arbeit, in Kooperation mit dem GNC Cottbus, Flüchtlingsrat Brandenburg , Opferperspektive, RAA Brandenburg, und Women in Exile and Friends, 15. und 16. Mit der Tagung möchte das Fachgebiet „Soziologie für die Soziale Arbeit“ unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Birgit Behrensen internationale Sozialwissenschaften und regionale soziale Praxis zusammenbringen. Ziel der Tagung ist eine Diskussion der theoretischen und praktischen Bedeutung von Empowerment – nicht zuletzt als Ansatz zur Bearbeitung gesellschaftlicher Ungleichheitsprozesse im Zuge von Fluchtmigration. 

Zugleich soll die Tagung mehrsprachige Diskussionsräume bieten. Handlungsleitend ist die Idee einer breiten Inklusion im akademischen Kontext.

The conference, organised by the department „Sociology for social work“ headed by Prof. Dr. Birgit Behrensen, aims to inspire the link between international social sciences and regional social work. The conference shall encourage a discussion about thetheoretical and practical application of empowerment – not least as an approach to address social inequality in relation to forced migration.

Additionally, the conference shall accomodate inclusive settings, hoping to reflect widening participation within this academic context.
