Creative Commons licences
You can choose whether to publish your publication without granting a licence using German copyright law or under a Creative Commons licence (CC licence).
German copyright law permits individual reproductions, i.e. copies and printouts may only be made for private and other personal use (§ 53 German Copyright Act). The production and distribution of further reproductions is only permitted with your express permission as the author.
In contrast, CC licences offer more extensive use of the publication. CC licences are standardised, internationally widespread licence agreements that are based on copyright regulations. For example, your name must always be mentioned as the author of the work.
By publishing your work on our digital repository, you grant BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg a simple right of use. All other rights remain with you. You may therefore continue to use your work yourself without restriction or publish it elsewhere. However, when choosing a licence, please note that publishers usually claim the exclusive right of use.
Under the condition that the name of the author/rights holder is mentioned, this licence allows the work to be duplicated, disseminated and used in the public arena. Revisions may be undertaken and disseminated. The content may be used for commercial purposes.
This type of licence is recommended for publication on the digital repository of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. The licence is Open Access compliant.
