The seminar will reflect on contemporary urban and regional planning with views on planning theory, urban analysis and tools for implementation. The objective is to give the students an overview of current challenges and planning paradigms in an international context. Relevant issues for urban development (e.g. urbanization, housing, informality, civil society and grassroots) will build the foundation for understanding urban and regional planning in an international context. The participants will be asked to prepare presentations on selected topics and active participation in the discussions is expected.
