  • How can I access my library account?

Enter your library account details in the "Log in" at the top left. You will then see the link "Your account" and find all the information you need.

Your 11-digit user number is printed on your library card. The corresponding password is automatically assigned your date of birth in the format ddmmyy. Please change your password to protect your access to library applications from misuse.

You cannot currently work in the library system with your BTU account.

  • I have forgotten my password. What can I do?n?

You currently have to use the old catalogue to reset your password. Click on the "Login" button on the right and then "Forgot your password?"

  • What do the colours mean for availability?

    • green - available.
You can borrow the medium from the open stacks, order it or read it in the library.
    • yellow - reference collection.
You can use the item in the reading room. If you need a reference item from the stacks, please contact the library staff or place a stacks order in the old catalogue https://btuov60.bib-bvb.de/InfoGuideClient.btusis/startseite/katalog.htm
    • Red - borrowed.
The item is on loan, you can place a hold on it. You can see how many people will receive the item before you by looking at the reserve status.
    • red - not available
You cannot borrow, order or reserve the item; it is either in a reference collection or is currently being processed or is missing.
  • How do I find the location?

    • Tab: Library catalogue
The "Fulltext" button appears for all e-media. For physically available media, click on the "Availability" button. If you would like a graphical location display, please click on the location.

    • Tab: Online articles
Click on the "Links" button to access the desired full texts.

  • How can I find more information about the title?

All available information is displayed under the "Details" button.

  • I have a question about my search or about a hit.

At the end of the hit list there is the button “Ask a librarian”. Call up the page and enter your question and your contact details. Your search will be transferred to the form.

If you have a question about a specific hit, please copy the permalink into an e-mail or the inquiry form.

  • I would like to email my hits / my account.

LAUBERT is currently unable to send e-mails. Select the print output and print to pdf. You can then email this file to the device and to yourself.

  • I have too many hits!

Look in the left-hand column under "Refine your search" to see if there are any useful ways for you to restrict the list of hits. Perhaps you are looking for publications in a specific language or in a specific publication period (e.g. new publications).

Please also note the "advanced search".

  • I haven't found what I was looking for!

There can be many reasons for this. Maybe it was a spelling mistake. Truncation could also help, e.g. chemi* for chemistry, chemical etc. Please note the Seach tips at the bottom of the LAUBERT page.

Only use the most important words for your search. This is because all terms are linked with AND by default, so they really must all be present in the results.

Take a look at the tabs on the right under the search slot: Library catalogue, Online articles, Interlibrary loan.

In the library catalogue, for example, you will not find any journal articles, but only the titles of the journals. If you are not sure, then try "Online articles".

Of course, we don't have all the media that are available worldwide. However, it is often possible to order books or articles that we do not have from other libraries (= interlibrary loan). So also search in the "Interlibrary loan" tab.

  • I have found an online resource, but cannot access the full text.

We often link to media for which our library has acquired a licence for the BTU campus network. Access only works if you are in this network. This is the case in the WLAN or on the computers in our library.

Remote access is also possible for students and employees of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. Information on this can be found on our website "Access and disclaimer for electronic media".

  • Where can I find the classification system?

It is not included in LAUBERT. The old catalogue must be used for this.

However, it is possible to display all other titles that are also labelled with the same notation by clicking on the corresponding notation in the detailed display of a hit that has already been found in another way. It is also possible to open the corresponding part of the "tree" by clicking on the + under the notation and to call up the titles for these notations in the same way. This applies both to the notations of the BTU classification and to those of the Regensburg Union Classification (RVK).
