Professionalization of Housing Consulting (ProWoB)
Runtime
11/2023 - 10/2026
For many older people, living in familiar surroundings is a key and fundamental part of their life story and, at the same time, an important expression of quality of life. Living space and one's own ‘home’ are linked to spatial, temporal, social, emotional and cultural aspects, often centred on the desire to remain in one's own four walls. This is the aim of the interdisciplinary project team of the ProWoB project, led by Prof. Dr. Alexandra Retkowski (Department of Social Services for Structurally Weak Regions at the Institute of Social Work) and substitute professor Dr. Bettina Glunde (Department of Nursing Science & Clinical Nursing at the Institute of Health). The aim is to further develop and consolidate the professionalisation of housing advice in Lusatia so that those seeking advice can receive targeted support from housing advisors.
The project is part of the com(m) 2020 alliance: ‘Municipal innovations for healthcare in rural areas’ by Carl-Thiem-Research GmbH, which aims to actively shape healthcare in Lusatia and strengthen the healthcare industry as a value-adding sector in structural change. With funding of €467,673.43 (including a project allowance) provided by the BMBF, the care situation in Lusatia can be analysed for the first time and quality criteria for housing advice identified. In addition, a training and implementation concept for housing advisors is being piloted.lotiert.
