With the aim of promoting young female researchers, the Gender Equality Office at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg awards scholarships of 400 euros per month. Our ‘InterFEMStip’ is a gender equality initiative designed to support international female students and PhD candidates.

All international female scientists who are members of BTU. Special consideration is given to BTU female academics with family responsibilities (children, relatives in need of care) or a commitment to promoting equal opportunities.

Applications (in German or English) can be submitted from now until 31 August 2026.

The potential funding period is 4 months, from September 2026 to December 2026.

Funding will be granted following assessment of the application and subject to the availability of funds. There is no legal entitlement to funding.

• Application form (to be completed online!)
• Letter of motivation (brief explanation of why the scholarship is needed; max. 1 page)
• proof of enrolment
• Current transcript of records
• Residence permit
• Evidence of family responsibilities (children, relatives requiring care) and commitment to promoting gender equality
• Where applicable, employment contract with the BTU

All applications received are reviewed by a jury made up of members of the Equal Opportunities Council. The jury then decides on the awarding of the scholarships.

At the end of the funding period, you must provide the Central Equal Opportunities Officer with a brief and informal report (max. 1 page) on the added value that the partial scholarship you received has achieved for you. This testimonial will be used for documentation, evaluation and for adapting or improving the equality-promoting measure.
