Examination software used
In addition to written/oral examinations, individual chairs at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg offer electronic examinations using the examination software LPLUS TestStudio© (provider: LPLUS GmbH Bremen). The use of the examination software was preceded by a test phase that began in 2011. The complete examination system (database and application server) is operated at BTU CS in the IKMZ/IT Systems department. Content maintenance and user administration is carried out at the IKMZ/Multimedia Center.
LPLUS TestStudio©
- clearly structured workflow and an intuitive user interface for teachers and students
- Automatic correction of closed questions
- clear, online-based post-correction of the results
- Fast and comprehensive export options for providing statistical parameters
- Standard interfaces for quick exchange with other formats
LPLUS TS-Editor®
The LPLUS TS-Editor® is the authoring system used for eExams to create and manage tasks/exam questions. In addition to the familiar standard question types (single/multiple choice, true/false, text tasks), numerous other innovative task types are used. Complex questions can be presented clearly by integrating multi-media objects and simulations.
The screencast series below presents a selection of the available task types.
Security features of the eExams:
- All test taker entries are permanently stored on the test server (manual saving by the test taker is not necessary).
- If a workstation PC fails, the exam can be continued immediately on another PC without any loss of data and therefore without any disadvantages for the examinee.
- The conception and implementation of an e-examination as well as its data acquisition, storage and archiving have been checked by the BTU's legal department.
