Travelling to Cottbus - Senftenberg

The closest international airport to BTU is “Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport” (BER). The German airport with the most international connections is Frankfurt/Main (FRA). If you are flying to Germany, you must take the train to Cottbus or Senftenberg. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to pick you up from the airport.
From "BER Terminal 1-2" and "Terminal 5 (Schönefeld)" you need about 1.5 - 2 h by public transport to get to Cottbus and Senftenberg.
You can check the current train connection on the website of the Deutsche Bahn. Within the field "from station/stop/address" write "Flughafen BER - Terminal 1-2" or "Flughafen BER - Terminal 5 (Schönefeld)" and within the field "to station/stop/address" write "Cottbus Hbf" or "Senftenberg". The current connections will be displayed.
Several regional trains (e.g. S8, S9) run directly from the regional train station at Frankfurt am Main Airport to Frankfurt (Main) Central Station. From here there are train connections to Berlin or Leipzig with options to Cottbus and Senftenberg. The train ride from Frankfurt (Main) to Cottbus or Senftenberg takes about 6.5 h.
From the long-distance train station at Frankfurt am Main Airport, there is also an hourly ICE express train directly to Leipzig with connections to Cottbus and Senftenberg.

By Train
Germany has a well-developed railroad network. Cottbus and Senftenberg have fast and direct train connections to Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig, and Wrocław (Poland). Therefore, you can reach the BTU relatively easily from any point in Europe.

From the Berlin stations "Zoologischer Garten," "Berlin Hauptbahnhof," and "Berlin-Ostbahnhof" the trains of the line RE 2 leave every hour to Cottbus.
From Leipzig central station, the RE 10 train leaves for Cottbus every two hours.
From Cottbus central station, regional trains RB 49, RE 13 or RE 18 leave for Senftenberg station.
From the Train Station to your Accommodation
Once you have arrived at the main train station in Cottbus or Senftenberg, you can take various buses (and in Cottbus also tramways) to your accommodation. You can check the public transportation connections on the homepage of the "Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB)". Enter e.g. "Cottbus, Hauptbahnhof" as "Start location" and your new address in Cottbus or Senftenberg as "Destination".
