Call for applications - short term positions September 6th until December 31st 2016
The task is to elaborate a detailed map of the urban structures of the Old Town of Aleppo in the status 2012 including the ground figures of important and selected buildings on the basis of existing cadastral maps, historic maps, separated drawings of building ground figures and specific structures of the public spaces. Working scale will be 1 : 500. The final map should be printed in the scale 1 : 1.000. The map will be added with a 3D modelling. To elaborate the map many different sources have to be inspected, investigated and allocated. Old maps and drawings have to be digitalized with CAD and all sources will be integrated in one digital CAD map.
The work will be done in a team of scientific assistants, technical assistants and scientific student assistants (MA- or PhD students) or trainee. The team will work in cooperation with phd-students, who also work about Aleppo and in cooperation with two researchers from Stuttgart University. Christoph Wessling and Prof. Heinz Nagler will supervise the team.
