Lehrinhalt

After finishing this course participants can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. They can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken and can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. They can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

This module aims at College+ students with an English language competence at level CEFR A2+/B1. It is not suited for students with a higher or lower English language competence.

In this course participants will learn various aspects of academic English, from writing essays, participating in seminar discussions and giving presentations, to developing your reading skills and giving and receiving feedback.  The course is designed to help develop the skills needed to communicate and participate in an academic setting, while also preparing the participants for the use of English in the business world.  By the end of the course the participants should be able to communicate effectively in a variety of situations while also gaining knowledge on a wide range of topics.

This modul especially aims at exchange students with an English language competence at level CEFR B1+/B2. It is not suited for students with a lower English language competence

Lehrinhalt

In this course you will learn various aspects writing academic/scientific English, from the language itself, to structuring the text and writing more efficiently.  The course is designed to help develop the skills needed to write effectively in an academic setting, while also preparing you for the use of English in the scientific and business world.  By the end of the course you should be able to write according to academic English standard, as well as gain more command of the language and organise your work more effectively.

To have a good command of written English, preferably at least a B2 CEFR.  Students should have some experience with academic, business or scientific writing in English.

Lehrinhalt

Students will acquire and consolidate fundamental skills which they will need in their professional life. They can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialisation. They can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. They can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

The participants should have very good proficiency in English (level B2).
