"POWER to - a journey through power, knowledge and gender in science"
Science is regarded as a place of reason - and yet it is not free from hierarchy, exclusion and cultural influences. The lecture undertakes an essayistic movement through epistemic orders, institutional structures and silent self-evident truths - with analytical pleasure, a dash of irony and an eye on what is feasible. Gender is not seen as a marginal category, but as a catalyser of knowledge.
"Especially in times when knowledge is becoming increasingly political, it's worth knowing the rules of the game more precisely - and helping to write them"
Deborah Ruggieri is a cultural and political scientist, coach, speaker, consultant and trainer - and has been working in science, politics and business for over 15 years. She trains managers, accompanies organisations through change and speaks with vision, wit and analytical depth about power, gender and structural dynamics. Listening to her, you will not get standard answers, but new perspectives and tangible impulses with a lot of joy in knowledge.
Experience Deborah Ruggieri live in a lecture of a special kind and in the subsequent personal talk with presenter Birgit Hendrischke. The evening will also provide plenty of opportunity for dialogue and encounters.
The Visionärinnen*Salon serves to network women in science and beyond. As part of the FEM*Vision mentoring programme, the salon evening offers interested women a platform to get to know each other (better), to network, to find cooperation or tandem partners, to forge alliances, to present current projects or new formats and to share their visions.
Interested parties of all genders are cordially invited, but in particular female BTU members of all status groups.
Due to limited space, please register in advance by e-mail to gleichstellung(at)b-tu.de
