Final Conference: "Potentials and Challenges of Cultural and Creative Industries in medium-sized Cities" took place at the Chair of Urban Management

The UCP Final conference took place in Cottbus on November 7th 2013. The conference was aimed at practitioners and researchers in the field of economic as well as spatial development and research. The focus thereby was on cultural and creative industries in medium-sized cities.

Main topics academics and practitioners talked about were:

  • Cultural and creative industries and urban development
  • City branding with the cultural and creative industries
  • Creative business generation
  • Cooperation and networks within and outside of the cultural and creative industries

Speakers arrived from all over europe. The UCP partners presented their main projects. Keynote speakers were Prof. Joan Ganau (University of Lleida, Spain), Dr. Tom Fleming (TF creativie consultancy, London) sowie Ralf Ebert (stadtart, Dortmund).

Nadja Riedel (Presentation) and Marc Altenburg (Presentation) from the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus gave an introduction to the thematic field of this conference.
