Calls for Application

Within its two funding periods (2014 to 2018 and 2018 to 2023), the DFG Research Training Group 1913 "Cultural and Technological Significance of Historic Buildings" at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg has been able to offer 30 doctoral research posts with a runtime of three years and six post-doc positions with two to three years' runtime.

Posts for doctoral researchers and post-docs were created as full-time positions (pay scale TV-L 13) and were all based in Cottbus.

In their second year at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, both post-doc and doctoral research students had their work evaluated by professors at the Research Training Group and scientists from outside the group.

At the DFG Research Training Group “Cultural and Technological Significance of Historic Buildings”, associate doctoral students bringing their own funding were accepted over the entire funding period. A referral by one of the professors at the Research Training Group was a prerequisite for this association. Associate doctoral researchers were of equal ranking as doctoral researchers with DFG funding. They took part in the research and training programme on equal terms and were allowed to ask to be reimbursed for part of their travel expenses attending conferences or travelling abroad.

Due to additional funding by DFG, the funding period for the DFG Research Training Group 1913 will end on 30 September 2023.
