Within its first funding period (1 April 2014 to 30 September 2018), the DFG Research Training Group at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg has been able to offer 20 doctoral research posts with a runtime of three years and four post-doc positions with two years' runtime.
Thanks to funds having now been granted by the DFG for a second period from 2018 to 2023, we are now in a position to offer ten more doctoral research posts at the Research Training Group, starting in April 2020, running for 18 months initially. The Call for Applications is published here.
Posts for doctoral researchers and post-docs have been created as full-time positions (pay scale TV-L 13) and are all based in Cottbus.
In their second year at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, both post-doc and doctoral research students will have their work evaluated by professors at the Research Training Group and scientists from outside the group. A positive outcome of this evaluation provided, positions for doctoral research students can be extended for a further 18 months and post-doc positions for a further 12 months.
The funding period for the DFG Research Training Group will end in March 2023.
At the DFG Research Training Group “Cultural and Technological Significance of Historic Buildings”, we accept associate doctoral students bringing their own funding. A referral by one of the professors at the Research Training Group is a prerequisite for this association. Associate doctoral researchers are of equal ranking as doctoral researchers with DFG funding. They will take part in the research and training programme on equal terms and will be allowed to ask to be reimbursed for part of their travel expenses attending conferences or travelling abroad.
