Current vacancies
The international and interdisciplinary team of the chair is currently looking for teaching and research fellows (m/f/d) to carry out ongoing research projects in the following areas:
- Spherical high-pressure tanks for hydrogen storage
As part of the research project "Mukran - Research into innovative storage and transport solutions", BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is developing technologies for the safe and efficient high-pressure storage of hydrogen. Two variants are being considered. On the one hand, type IV tanks with a polymer liner and a load-bearing shell made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) and, on the other hand, steel tanks. In addition to the production technology-dependent characterisation of the anisotropic materials, research questions on the optimisation of the layer structure, a material-compatible liner design, the design of a production strategy and the in-situ introduction of sensors for a monitoring system during the automated fibre placement process are to be addressed together with the project partner Fraunhofer IAP. The research project will use a wide variety of processes, methods and annexes such as a hybrid processing centre for additive and subtractive component production, robomoulding of liners, machining technology, automated processing technologies for fibre-reinforced plastics as well as numerical calculations and optimisations to achieve the project goals - the development of key technologies for the high-pressure storage of hydrogen in trimodal logistics.

To carry out current and future research projects, the chair is still looking for reinforcement in the following areas:
- Extrusion of fire-resistant plastics
We are looking for an academic teaching and research fellow for a planned research project with an industrial partner from the region in the field of "Extrusion of fire-resistant plastics". Experience in the processing of plastics - in particular extrusion - is desirable.
- Development of hybrid lightweight façade elements
As part of a planned research project in the field of "hybrid lightweight façade elements", we are looking for a teaching and research fellow to join our team, preferably with experience in the design and manufacture of hybrid metal-plastic components and Plastics Processing.
- Development of highly resilient sandwich structures in ultra-lightweight construction
As part of the implementation of a planned joint research project in the field of "Development of highly resilient sandwich structures in ultra-lightweight construction", we are looking for an academic teaching and research fellow. Sound knowledge in the field of Plastics Processing and the design of FRP and sandwich structures is desired.
- Structure-bornenoise optimisation of hybrid metal-plastic components
For a planned joint project in the field of "Structure-borne noise optimisation of hybrid metal-plastic components", we are looking for an academic teaching and research fellow, preferably with experience in the fields of structure-borne noise transmission and Plastics Processing.
You are looking for new challenges in the areas of
- Design and layout of lightweight components as well as processes and tools for plastic/composite processing
- Carrying out and analysing experimental tests on lightweight structures, parameter studies, interpreting the results
- Independent development of investigation and test scenarios
- simulation
- Development of new project ideas and processing of project tasks
- other focal points of our chair
