PbL crushes wind turbines

In a cooperation project with a regional company, PbL developed a machine for shredding rotor blades of wind turbines.

In cooperation with a local company, the chair of Polymer-based Lightweight Design (formerly known as Leichtbau mit strukturierten Werkstoffen LsW) developed a shredder for the on-site shredding of rotor blades of discarded wind turbines. With this machine it is possible to shred halved 30m long blades in less than one minute to a particle size of A4. This makes it possible to transport bulk material at low cost.
