Chair of Polymer-based Lightweight Design with hydrogen theme on German television channel MDR

On 23.06.2020, the german TV station MDR broadcasted a contribution with the topic "Research and hydrogen industry across federal states" as part of its Sachsenspiegel which was broadcasted at 7:00 p.m. The topic was the cooperation between Brandenburg, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt in the field of hydrogen production and storage and thus a hydrogen strategy for the Lusatia region. With the help of the Automated Fibre Placement (AFP) system shown in the contribution, the chair of Polymer-based Lightweight Design is able to produce e.g. fibre-reinforced high-pressure vessels in lightweight construction. With the intended research projects regarding the design and manufacture of high-performance containers with novel designs and materials, substantial contributions to socio-politically relevant topics of the "National Hydrogen Strategy" will be made. Corresponding projects with industrial partners are already underway.
