Presence and argumentation training with Sandra Masemann

It is not always easy to win over colleagues in favour of committee work. In addition to a clear stance in favour of the cause, this requires good arguments. In the 1.5-day workshop on 9 + 10 October, you will learn how to represent yourself and your position well with consciously used body language, a good argumentation strategy and a pinch of quick-wittedness.

Sandra Masemannhas been an independent trainer, consultant, moderator and coach since 2005. She also writes specialised books. She has many years of stage experience and has been performing corporate theatre with a focus on improvisation for many years. Since starting her own business, she has worked with universities and universities of applied sciences. One of her main focuses is working with women's and Equal Opportunities Officers as well as training and coaching in various mentoring programmes. Her main areas of expertise:
Convincing behaviour, storytelling, successful communication, team & leadership, train the trainer, corporate culture (focus on error culture), stress management & making courageous decisions.

Part 1: Presence training - "convincing and effective presentation"

Focal points: Making your own position visible and asserting it in committees, gaining admission from male colleagues, increasing your own effectiveness in communication situations. We work scenically on your specific cases/concerns.

Contents:
- Understanding your own role in the respective committee
- Presence - key factors for winning people over for yourself or your concerns
- The power of body language - recognising and using effective body language
- Finding clear words
- Working on specific concerns/ cases of the participants

Methods:
- "Strange" professional input from the trainer
- Group work
- Useful elements from voice and theatre work
- Role play/scenic work
- Useful elements from improvisational theatre

Friday, 10 October

Part 2: Successful argumentation - with a clear message and a convincing strategy!

Focal points: Making your own position visible and asserting it in committees, gaining admission from male colleagues, increasing your own effectiveness in communication situations. We work on your specific cases/concerns.

Contents:
- Sharpening your own point of view
- Learning from successful speakers
- Using different types of arguments
- Getting to know and applying simple argumentation strategies
- Working on participants' specific concerns/ cases

Methods
- "Strange" technical input from the trainer
- Plenary discussion
- Individual, pair and group work
- Role play
