Ezeamama, Anayo Azubuike is currently carrying out a PhD research at the Chair of Civil and Public Law with References to the Law of Europe and the Environment at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU), Cottbus – Senftenberg. Mr. Ezeamama also holds a Master’s degree (M.Sc) in Environmental and Resource Management from the same University and a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) in Chemistry from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. He has also passed the German language test (level B1.1) at the BTU.

Mr. Ezeamama is currently working as a Research Assistant, Under the STIBET-DAAD Programme, at the Chair of Civil and Public Law with References to the Law of Europe and the Environment, BTU Cottbus – Senftenberg, a position he held since April, 2015. He was awarded the DAAD Prize in 2015 for the most outstanding International/Foreign students at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. He was a visiting scholar at the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency in the UN Environment - Danish Technical University Partnership between March and June, 2017. He has received several other awards such as the BTU PhD studentship and the Linda Latham Scholarship by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).   

PhD Dissertation

  • Evaluating energy efficiency potentials in the Nigeria residential sector using relevant research parameters and recommendation of policies and legal framework that must be created to help realize these potentials.

Expected publications

  • “Evaluating the economic potential of energy efficient lighting systems in influencing consumer choice of household light bulbs and transforming the market for efficient products in Nigeria”.

Conference presentations

  • „Micro Combined Heat and Power Systems – Survey on current developments and evaluation of a sample application” COGEN-Czech Conference, Prague, Czech Republic.

  • Energy policy, Energy efficiency, Sustainability and low carbon economy, Market assessment, Climate change, Environmental management, strategy development, project formulation.

Professional activities/training

Successfully concluded training organized by the International Graduate School, BTU on “Drafting professional and successful proposals. This training which is based on the structure and context of German and European funding programmes, involved a step by step approach from the first idea to the finished proposal giving all kinds of relevant advice at every stage. It also provided a critical insight on the philosophy of programmes and political considerations necessary for a successful proposal outcome.

Associations

  • Member, The German – African Campus (COMENGA): This association fosters relationship between students in developing countries and Germany by bringing them together to exchange knowledge and ideas and in addition, experience different academic environments as well as culture. He supported the design and development of innovative models for German-African partnerships in the university sector.
