"Multi-component processing in Plastics Processing"

[6 KP|4 SWS|summer semester | module no.: 13044]

After successfully completing the module Multicomponent Processing in Plastics Processing, students will be able to evaluate and successfully apply different approaches in the production of fibre-reinforced plastic components. Building on the fundamentals of Plastics Processing, they will learn about and explain manufacturing technologies for both thermoset and thermoplastic-based FRP.

Topics

  • Deepening the material basics of fibre-reinforced Polymeric Materials
  • Reinforcing fibres, matrix materials, textiles, pre-impregnated semi-finished products
  • Principles and design rules for the design of FRP lightweight structures
  • Design with fibre composites
  • Large-scale production from the fibre to the component
  • Comparison and evaluation of experimentally determined and theoretically calculated characteristic values
