Barış Altan

Jahrgang 1975, M.Sc. Studium der Architektur und Master in Restaurierung an der Technischen Universität Istanbul. 1999–2003 Teil des Herausgeber-Teams der Veröffentlichungen Architecture in Turkey 2000 und Architecture in Turkey 2004. 1998–2000 Tätigkeit an der History Foundation an verschiedenen Kulturerbeprojekten. 2000 und 2002 Tätigkeit als Forschung und Kurator für zwei Ausstellungen am Imperial Ottoman Bank Archives and Research Centre. 2008–2010 Tätigkeit als Direktor der Cultural Awareness Foundation. 2010 gründender Generalsekretär für Europa Nostra Turkey nach der Tätigkeit als Veranstaltungskoordinator für den Europa Nostra Jahreskongress in Istanbul im Juni 2010. Nach Kulturerbe-Projekten von 2010 bis 2013, Projektkoordinator von LIMEN: Cultural Ports from Aegean to the Black Sea von Oktober 2013 bis Dezember 2015. Ab 2016 verwaltender Koordinator des Koç University – Stavros Niarchos Foundation Center for Late Antique and Byzantine Studies.

Forschungschwerpunkte: Kulturerbepolitik, Restaurierungsgeschichte und -praktiken.
