Instructions for accessing the network: eduroam

This section is intended exclusively for members of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. Members of other institutions should follow the configuration instructions provided by their home institution.

Note: Even though access to the eduroam wireless network is sometimes possible on an ad hoc basis (without special configuration of the WLAN end devices), it is strongly recommended that you configure the WLAN end devices used in the eduroam wireless network in accordance with the following configuration instructions:

  • This is the only way to ensure that your WLAN end device only transmits the login information (user name/password) to trusted login servers.
  • Using the default WLAN settings of some operating systems can result in an unstable WLAN connection to the eduroam network.

If the PEAPv0 access procedure is to be used to log in to the eduroam network at another institution, the following special features must be noted:

  • Authentication is carried out using your central BTU account.
  • The login name must be entered in the format loginname@b-tu.de.

The validity of your central BTU account can be checked here.
