A network licence for MAXQDA Analytics Pro has been purchased, providing all students and staff at the BTU with free access to this professional tool.

Downloads are only available within the BTU network. If you are accessing the network from outside the BTU, please use the VPN service.

MAXQDA AI Assist

MAXQDA AI Assist is a new AI-based add-on supported by OpenAI.

AI Assist offers the option of automatically summarising text passages and coded segments. You can also automatically paraphrase text segments and generate new codes/subcodes based on already coded text passages. AI Assist also includes MAXQDA Transcription, MAXQDA's automatic transcription service, which allows you to automate the transcription of audio and video files. You can freely select the language for automatic transcription, summarisation and code suggestions.

The following AI Assist features are currently available in MAXQDA:

  • In the document browser, selected text passages can be automatically summarised and saved as a new in-document memo or new paraphrase (AI Summary: Selected Text and AI Paraphrase). In addition, you can display an inspiring list of new codes that could be assigned to the selected text passage (AI Suggestions for New Codes).
  • For individual coded segments, an automatic summary can be created and saved in the coding comment (AI Summary: Coded Segment).
  • In code memos, you can automatically generate a code summary for all segments that have been coded with the corresponding code (AI Summary: Code Summary).
  • In the Summary Grid, you can automatically generate a summary for the segments of a document that have been assigned to a selected code (AI Summary: Summary Grid).
  • Based on the content captured with a code, AI Assist can generate suggestions for suitable subcodes and save these suggestions in the code memo (AI Suggestions for Subcodes).
  • Automatic transcription of audio and video files with MAXQDA Transcription.
