Security aspects

Since the VPN service connections are established via Internet resources, mechanisms for securing the data to be transferred are essential:

A VPN tunnel is only established after successful authentication. BTU members can choose to use either their central BTU account or their user certificate (issued by the BTU certification authority).
If 2FA token is enabled, a ‘OneTimePassword’ generated with it is requested after login.
Authentication is encrypted.
In the VPN tunnel, data packets are transmitted encrypted with AES.

After the VPN connection has been established, data packets are transmitted exclusively in the secure VPN tunnel.
