Scholarship grant and partial scholarships for BTU female scientists* in qualification phases

Being able to study and research without worries - for many this is only possible to a limited extent. In order to provide further financial relief, female* BTU scientists in a qualification phase can apply for an increase in their existing scholarship up to a maximum of 1,500 EUR from the Equal Opportunities Office of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg.

The scholarship programme aims to sustainably improve the equality of women at all qualification levels in the science system and to increase the number of female scientists in top positions in the science sector.

Who is sponsored?

All female* scientists who are BTU members. Special consideration is given to BTU female* scientists with family responsibilities (children, dependents in need of care) and commitment to promoting equality.

Application

Applications (in German or English) can be submitted as of now. Applications can be submitted retroactively to January 1, 2024. Approval is granted on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the financial requirements. For the application of the scholarship allowance, the maximum limit of own income is 1,500 € / month (including the allowance). There is no legal claim to the grant. Applications are only accepted in full and the application must be completed digitally. The application for a scholarship grant can be made via e-mail, in-house mail or gladly in person.

What is needed?

  • Application form (filled out digitally!)
  • Letter of motivation (short justification why top-up is needed; max. 1 page)
  • Scholarship notification
  • Certificate of enrollment
  • Residence permit, if applicable
  • If applicable, employment contract with the BTU

Reporting requirement

After the end of the funding period, the Central Equal Opportunity Officer must be informed about the receipt of the scholarship grant and its effects. This testimonial serves us for documentation, evaluation and for the adaptation or improvement of the equality-promoting measure to the needs of our female scientists* in qualification phases. The short and informal report (max. 1 page) is to be submitted via e-mail and should include the following contents:

  • Brief summary of the research project,
  • Which goals of the research project did you achieve during the funding period?
  • What added value did the fellowship grant funding received achieve?
