LAN access in public areas of the BTU

Network sockets for the ‘LAN access in public areas of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg’ service have been installed in selected areas of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. Members of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg can use these network sockets to connect to the campus network or the Internet. Network access is easily activated via a web interface. The login information is transmitted via an ‘https’ connection, i.e. SSL-encrypted.

Requirements for using this service:

  • Central BTU account
  • PC with 10/100BaseT network card (plus cable)
  • ‘https’-enabled Internet browser

Guests of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg who do not have a central BTU account can be set up with a guest account that allows them to use the ‘LAN access in public areas of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg’. The prerequisite for providing network access for guests is an event registration approved by the university administration, stating the requirement and the number of network access points to be provided for the guests.
