Information on using webmail
With IMP/Webmail, BTU Cottbus offers a webmail system for processing emails using any JavaScript-enabled browser.
The system is based on the standard IMP (Internet Messaging Program) software. As there are no restrictions regarding the connection of the browser/client, this webmail system allows emails to be processed worldwide on any PC in the same way. In particular, it is possible to switch between this webmail system and ‘conventional’ email programmes at any time for email processing.

The https protocol establishes a secure, encrypted connection for the transfer of data between the web client on the local PC and the web server with the IMP webmail system. IMP can only be accessed via https, not via http. JavaScript and cookies must be enabled for IMP to function.
Note: If you regularly use another mail client, you should also configure the IMAP protocol (not POP3) there.
