PhD candidate Marina de Castro Teixeira Maia will defend her dissertation:

“We Need to Talk About Planning (Again): A Methodological Contribution to the History of Urban Plans in Porto Alegre, Brazil”

The work develops a historical-analytical approach to urban plan-making as a situated process of knowledge production. Drawing on science and technology studies and the philosophy of science, it examines two key moments in the planning history of Porto Alegre: the urban plans of 1914 and 1979.
