Flags

Fabric flags are a versatile tool for group educational exercises and activities. They fund cooperation, communication and creativity within the group. Here are some examples of how the flags can be used:

  • Team building activities: divide the group into teams, each representing a colour. The flags can be used to symbolise belonging to a team. This strengthens team spirit and funds identification with the group.
  • Competitive exercises: Organise relay races or obstacle courses in which each team uses a flag as a baton. This increases motivation and provides an additional fun factor.
  • Communication exercises: Use the flags to practise non-verbal communication. Each team is given a task that can only be solved by raising or lowering the flags. This trains the ability to convey information without words.
  • Terrain games: In larger outdoor games such as "Capture the Flag", the flags can serve as markers for certain areas or goals. For example, "treasures" can be marked or certain stations highlighted.
  • Role-playing games: The flags can be used as props in role-playing games to mark different roles or tasks. This helps to make the scenarios more lively and tangible.

From 15 different coloured fabric flags can be borrowed from the Laboratory for Didactics and Methods. These flags consist of a sturdy wooden stick and are available in the colours yellow (4x), blue (4x), red (3x) and green (4x).
