kimemo

Immerse yourself in the world of children's rights with a game that funds awareness of the fundamental rights of every child - kimemo! With this original memory game, the Federal Agency for Civic Education has created a creative way to playfully engage with the fundamental rights of children. A visual journey through the rights that every child deserves unfolds on 48 colourful picture cards - or 24 pairs. Are you ready to shuffle the cards and discover the rights?

Structure and procedure

Shuffle the picture cards and place them face down on the table; they can be arranged in rows and columns for better orientation. The youngest player starts and turns over two picture cards of their choice. If the two cards form a pair, the player may keep the cards and turn over two cards again. If the two cards do not form a pair, it is the next player's turn. The aim is to memorise the position of the face-up cards in order to find a matching pair on the next turn. The player who has found the most pairs is the winner.

Tip: The kimemo can be used in combination with the children's rights folder. On the DIN A0 poster, the pictures of the kimemo are shown on a banner and the children's rights are listed in child-friendly language. For example, the kimemo can also be played as a picture lottery.

kimemo is part of our children's rights themed box, but can also be borrowed separately.
