jumblr method collection
"The jumblr collection of methods" is an ideal tool for anyone who wants to deal with the Media Pedagogy education of children and young people in rural areas. Rural areas are neglected in many respects, in particular when it comes to media education programmes. While urban environments benefit from numerous existing structures, there is a lack of corresponding programmes in rural areas. The project "jumblr™ - Jugendmedienbildung im ländlichen Raum" (jumblr™ - youth media education in rural areas) by the Brandenburg Media Education Association has therefore set itself the task of closing this gap. The aim of the project is to test practical Media Pedagogy formats and gradually disseminate them in the state of Brandenburg.
Target group
The main target group is children and young people aged 13 to 17. However, the methods can be adapted according to age to make them suitable for younger or older participants.
Contents
The jumblr method collection contains methods that were originally intended to be used at events organised by Brandenburg youth education centres on the module area of media and digitalisation. These valuable methods are now available to anyone who wants to work with children and young people on topics such as smart living, life perspectives, dealing with each other in a digital community of values or gaming.
Structure
The collection is divided into four modules, each designed for three- or five-day seminars. These modules cover the following topics:
- Smart Living
- Perspective on life
- Dealing with each other in a digital community of values
- Gaming
The collection describes various exercises and methods in detail. The target group, duration and additional materials required are specified for each method. The respective objective and instructions for implementation are also described in detail. In addition to the individual methods, the collection also offers concrete schedules for the seminars. These plans help to organise structured and targeted seminars that offer children and young people a comprehensive insight into the respective topics.
