Free Hip
In the prevention game "Free Hip", players face a specific challenge of our time: cyberbullying. In order to teach children and young people how to deal with social media, students at the Brandenburg Police University developed the board game "Free Hip" in close collaboration with the Brandenburg Prevention Council. The co-operative board game revolves around the hippopotamus Hip, who is the victim of constant (cyber)bullying attacks. The aim is to respond to problematic interaction and communication experiences and to strengthen children's media skills in a playful way. To provide an entertaining and educational gaming experience, the game utilises classic elements such as dice, game pieces and event cards.
"Free Hip" is not available in shops. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank the Friends of the Brandenburg Police University for providing us with a copy of the board game free of charge.
You can find more detailed information about the association and the board game here.

Structure and procedure
General questions about (cyber)bullying and dealing with media are formulated on orange-coloured question cards. The blue hippopotamus cards describe various situations for which solutions should be sought. This is supplemented by role-playing games in which the players have to find solutions to counteract the bullying. The players who answer the most questions correctly collect the most points and win the game.
Please note: The Förderverein would like to point out that since the game went to press, there may have been changes to the different actions/acts and the preventative measures mentioned in the game may no longer be up to date. Please note this.
Free Hip is part of our themed box Stress on the Net, but can also be borrowed separately.
