Reflection card set for members of the social professions

The reflection card set was developed in collaboration with an experienced social pedagogue and systemic counsellor to support those who work in social professions on a daily basis and are committed to the protection and well-being of children. It is aimed at professionals in youth welfare offices, daycare centres, schools, advice centres, the police, courts and other child and youth welfare institutions. The 34 cards in the set address the specific needs and stresses of professionals and offer powerful affirmations that provide courage and confidence in everyday life. Professionals from other areas of Social Work, such as elderly care, the prison system or homelessness services, can also use the cards and adapt them to their context.

Structure and procedure

The card set consists of two types of cards: INNER cards and LIFE cards. Each card carries a powerful affirmation. To use the cards, combine an INNER card with a LIFE card.

  • Card combination: Randomly draw an INNER card and a LIFE card and combine them with each other. Play with the resulting sentences until you have found "your" sentence.
  • Feel the effect: Read the sentence you have found out loud and feel the effect it has on you.
  • Write down sentences: Write down the sentences that particularly appeal to and touch you.
  • Take sentences with you: Carry your sentences with you or hang them up in a place where you see them often, e.g. in your wardrobe, in the car or on the mirror.
  • Share and speak: Share your sentences with your group or those around you and talk about them. These conversations can take place in group meetings or informal gatherings.
  • Inspiration and empowerment: Display the cards around you and let new combinations inspire and empower you and other self-help activists.
