Set-up and procedure

The participants line up in a small circle, in the centre of which is a movable wooden board with randomly distributed figures on a stand. The aim is to constantly balance them - a wobbly affair that requires a great deal of attention. The participants are also divided into teams consisting of 2-3 people, with a blindfolded gripper and a spokesperson, i.e. one person is blindfolded. They have to 'grab' the figures on the wooden board and move them, with constant verbal guidance from the speaker. Touching by the speaker is not permitted.

There are three different ways in which the exercise can be performed.

  1. The team's task is to clear the wooden board completely with figures.
  2. The team's task is to fill the empty wooden board piece by piece with figures and place them on top.
  3. The team's task is to move the figures on the wooden board from square to square (areas separated by adhesive tape).

The difficulty lies in the fact that the board must remain constantly balanced. This requires clear instructions from the speaker, as well as trust between the members, as the board is in constant danger of tipping over: The board is in constant danger of tipping over.
